〜もかまわず
N1without caring about, paying no heed to
Formation: N + もかまわず; V/い-Adj plain + の + もかまわず; な-Adj + な + の + もかまわず
〜もかまわず means doing something without minding X, where X is something people would normally worry about, such as other people's eyes, the weather, getting dirty or bothering others. It describes behaviour, usually someone else's, and often carries mild criticism or surprise, though it can also show how desperate or absorbed someone is. It is used in both speech and writing, and fixed phrases such as 人目もかまわず and the related ところかまわず are very common. Compare 〜を顧みず, which is more formal and is about disregarding something weighty like danger, one's own safety or family, often in a brave or reckless act. 〜をよそに means ignoring other people's worries or the situation around you, and 〜をものともせず praises someone for overcoming an obstacle.
Variants: 〜も構わず、〜のもかまわず
