〜を踏まえて

N1

taking (X) into account, building on (X)

Formation: N + を踏まえて/を踏まえ; N + を踏まえた + N

This pattern means taking something already established, such as facts, results, past experience or an earlier discussion, as the starting point for the next judgment or action. It suggests careful thought: the speaker has reflected on X before deciding. It is formal and very common in business, government reports, news and academic writing. 〜に基づいて means following X directly as grounds or rules, and 〜をもとに means using X as material to make something. 〜を踏まえて is about weighing X and building on it, not following it to the letter. 〜に即して stresses staying faithful to the actual circumstances.

Variants: 〜を踏まえ、〜を踏まえた
